TikTok Shop has opened cross-border selling between the United Kingdom and the European Union. European sellers can now reach buyers in the UK, while UK sellers can expand into 12 EU countries.

New markets create new opportunities for merchants on both sides. But selling across borders also means you have to deal with different product rules, shipping costs, and local requirements.

In this guide, we’ll cover how to sell things on TikTok Shop across the UK and EU border, and how to prepare your shop and products for the new markets.

How Big is TikTok Shop in the UK

The UK is TikTok Shop’s largest market in Europe by far. In 2025, UK buyers spent €2.63 billion on TikTok Shop. That’s 65% of all TikTok Shop sales in Europe, according to ECDB data reported by Ecommerce News.

Spain came second, but its sales were less than a quarter of the UK’s. Here’s how the next 4 markets compared:

  • Spain: around €570 million (14% share)
  • France: €360 million (9% share)
  • Germany: €350 million (9% share)
  • Italy: €150 million (4% share)

The difference comes mostly from timing. TikTok Shop arrived in the UK at the end of 2021, while most EU markets followed in 2024 or 2025. That head start helped the UK build a large seller base: more than 300,000 UK small businesses now sell on the platform.

Still, other European markets are catching up. ECDB expects TikTok Shop sales to almost double in 2026 across Europe, including the UK. For sellers on either side, this growth makes cross-border expansion worth exploring.

How TikTok Shop Europe and UK Now Connect

Until recently, TikTok Shop’s UK and EU markets worked separately. Now, new cross-border programs let sellers on each side reach customers on the other.

TikTok Shop has been expanding across Europe all year. In June 2026, the marketplace launched in the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, and Austria. European sellers could already reach other EU markets through one TikTok Shop account. Connecting the EU and UK was the next step.

After a pilot with selected sellers in September, cross-border selling opened for both UK and EU businesses on October 19.

Requirements for Selling From TikTok Shop EU to the UK

If you’re an EU seller, you can enter the UK market through a program called Sell in the UK. The main requirement is to have a local TikTok Shop in Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, or Poland.

You don’t need to register a UK company. Instead, you can keep your EU business, bank account, and warehouse. You’ll also manage both shops through one Seller Center account.

To qualify, your TikTok EU shop also requires:

  • Account health: good standing, with no high-risk probation
  • Recent activity: completed sales within the last 30 days
  • Financial standing: negative balance of no more than USD 500

How to apply. If your shop is eligible, you’ll see a pop-up in Seller Center where you can submit the application. You can also find it under Products > Global Listings. TikTok Shop usually reviews applications within 1 to 3 working days.

Shipping. Ship by Seller is currently the only option. You choose and pay for the courier, and you handle customs clearance yourself. Orders have to be handed to the courier within 2 working days.

Returns. UK customers can’t return products directly to your EU warehouse. Instead, you can provide a UK return address or use a TikTok Shop return warehouse. You can also offer refunds without asking customers to return the product. With the last two options, you won’t get the item back.

Requirements for Selling From TikTok Shop UK to the EU

UK sellers can expand through a program called Sell Across EU. It lets you sell to buyers in 12 EU countries: Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Portugal, and Hungary.

TikTok Shop checks your eligibility automatically. To qualify, your UK shop must meet these conditions:

  • Operating status: active, fully onboarded UK shop
  • Account health: good standing, with no high-risk probation
  • Recent activity: sales within the last 30 days
  • Financial standing: no significant outstanding negative balance

How to apply. If you’re eligible, the option to expand appears in your Seller Center dashboard. TikTok Shop reviews your application, then links your new EU shop to your UK account. You can manage both shops in one place, but payments and local promotions stay separate for each market.

Shipping. Ship by Seller is the default option here as well. Ship by TikTok may also be available if you have an overseas warehouse. You can ship from the UK or from an EU country where you have a registered shop.

Returns. You need a return address in the EU. If you don’t have one, returns go to a TikTok Shop warehouse, and you’ll have to cover the processing costs.

Hardest Part of EU–UK Expansion: Your Listings

Getting approved to sell across the border is just the first step. Next, you need to prepare your products for the new market.

The problem is that UK and EU listings don’t follow exactly the same rules. So even if your products are already live in one market, they may need changes for the other. For sellers with large catalogs, making those changes manually takes a lot of time. Here’s what usually needs attention:

  • Compliance. EU listings need GPSR details, such as the Manufacturer and a Responsible Person in the EU. UK listings have to meet local product safety and category rules.
  • Category attributes. UK and EU marketplaces may ask for different product details. Some fields are only required in one market.
  • Prices. UK shops use GBP, while EU shops use EUR or another local currency. You’ll need to convert and adjust your prices.
  • Language. Titles and descriptions written in English need to be translated for most EU markets.
  • Stock. If both shops sell from one warehouse, a sale in one market has to update the other. Otherwise, you risk overselling.

TikTok Shop offers Global Listings, a tool that copies products from one shop to another, with options for translation and pricing. It’s built for sellers who manage their products directly in Seller Center.

But if you manage your catalog in Shopify, WooCommerce, or another e-commerce platform, it becomes more complicated. TikTok Shop itself advises against using Global Listings alongside an integration, because the two can push conflicting product data.

In that case, you need a way to copy TikTok Shop listings that stays connected to your online store.

How M2E Helps Copy Listings Between TikTok Shop UK and EU

If you manage your TikTok Shop catalog in Shopify or a different platform, M2E Multichannel Connect can simplify your expansion. It lets you copy listings between the UK and EU while keeping them linked to your store.

M2E Multichannel Connect is a marketplace management platform for mid-size and enterprise businesses. It connects your online store to TikTok Shop and 600+ other marketplaces, so you can synchronize your listings, inventory, and orders in one place. The platform works with leading e-commerce and POS platforms, such as Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopware, Ecwid, Lightspeed, and Square.

With M2E, you don’t need to rebuild your catalog for a second market. Instead, you can reuse your existing listings and product data.

The process is simple. Select your active TikTok Shop listings and choose the UK or EU marketplace. M2E then creates copies using your existing product information.

Here’s how replication saves you time:

  • No retyping. Titles, descriptions, prices, and brand carry over from your original listings. M2E also places each copy in the matching category on the new marketplace.
  • No manual GPSR entry. Save your manufacturer and Responsible Person details once for your EU account, and M2E adds them to every listing you copy from the UK to the EU.
  • Fewer rejected listings. Before your new listings go live, the M2E Intelligent Listing Assistant checks them against the marketplace’s rules and points out missing or invalid data.
  • No stock mismatches. Copied products follow the same sync settings as the original listings. So when a price or stock level changes in your store, M2E updates both shops automatically.

You’ll still need to add some compliance details for the new market. However, you can set them up once per category and apply them to all relevant listings. This saves a lot of manual work, especially if you have a large catalog.

Tips Before Your First Cross-Border TikTok Shop Sale

Now that you know how to sell on TikTok Shop UK as an EU seller and vice versa, check out these 5 tips to help you prepare for cross-border sales.

  1. Start with your best sellers. Look at your TikTok Shop sales history and choose products that perform well. Copy those first, and a smaller batch will show you which local details the new market asks for before you move the rest of your catalog.
  2. Review the category rules in the new market. Some categories are restricted or need extra compliance documents on the other side of the border. Check the guides on requesting category permission and restricted items to see what TikTok Shop may require.
  3. Sort out tax before the first order. If you sell from the EU to the UK, the EU One Stop Shop (OSS) generally doesn’t cover your UK sales, so you may need to register for UK VAT. For UK-to-EU sales, check the VAT rules and packaging requirements in your target countries. A tax advisor can help you understand what applies to your business.
  4. Price for the new shipping route. With Ship by Seller, you pay for delivery yourself. But international shipping usually costs more than domestic shipping, and customs can add extra expenses. Make sure your prices cover these costs before you send traffic to your new listings.
  5. Plan content for the new audience. Your listings won’t sell without videos and photos that appeal to local shoppers. If you’re expanding from the EU to the UK, LIVE isn’t available yet, so focus on shoppable videos and photos. You can also use TikTok’s Global Post tool to reuse your existing videos in the UK.

Final Thoughts

TikTok Shop’s new EU–UK programs make it easier to reach customers across the border. But opening a shop in another market is only the first step. The real work is getting your listings ready and keeping them accurate in both markets.

The good news is that you don’t have to start from scratch. With M2E Multichannel Connect, you can bring your existing listings to a new market and keep them connected to your store. So if you’ve been eyeing buyers on the other side of the border, your next market is closer than it looks.
